Ubisoft, French Video game heavyweight, is keen to use its influence on Nintendo’s second-generation Wii U remote video-game console. When the consoles that transformed play with motion-sensing wand controls were released in 2006, Ubisoft was the first third-party game publisher to have games ready for the original Wii. Ubisoft Rebecca Black plans to have five titles ready for play on Wii U consoles when the hardware wii games launches.
According to managing director of new console Ubisoft’s France studios Xavier Poix, “Killer Freaks” is being tailored exclusively for Wii U consoles. To 3ds dispel the rumors that the Wii U console does not live up to the standards of Hard-core video game players, Nintendo even provided a sneak peek of its newly designed console. Nintendo is accredited with opening the world of video games to moms, seniors, and other “casual” players with the introduction of the first Wii console reviews.
Nintendo Wii U
What was quite cheats fascinating was the interesting use of the Wii U nintendo ds controller’s screen. The Wii U control, by default would show the dungeon map, with the simulated gameplay – rendered in real-time – taking place on the main screen. Zelda in HD? It’s a simple multiplayer game where each player is wii remotes tasked with drawing something on the touchscreen within specified press conference guidelines.
It’s essentially a 5 player twist on hide and go seek; with 4 players tv using wii motes and one touchscreen controller using the new controller. It’s still very much a prototype, with no real playable games – but the tech demo experiences showcased had me excited for the new gameplay experiences and world of potential offered by the Wii U.
Wii U Revealed
Nintendo President and CEO Satoru Iwata detailed some of the tablet features. Nintendo didn’t announce any hardware specs, pricing or a specific release date. The bundle costs $500. Some game developers took advantage of the touch pads, like in this golf game that lets you change things in the game by swiping on its backside. Other developers took advantage of the device’s accelerometer making you spin and turn the device to control characters in the game. vice
Apple will introduce three new apps to work with iCloud for documents, photos and music. This time around the company announced that the drone will be flyable by Android, Symbian and bada devices. For iOS devices a new game, AR.Race is available in the App Store that lets pilots create a race track and then fly it. Nintendo unveiled the Wii U system at the E3 trade show on June 7 when IBM and Nintendo announced that IBM’s chips would power the unit. The relationship between IBM and Nintendo dates to May 1999, when IBM was selected to design and manufacture the central microprocessor for the Nintendo GameCube system. Since 2006, IBM has shipped more than 90 million chips for Nintendo Wii systems, IBM officials said. Built on the open, scalable Power Architecture base, IBM custom processors exploit the performance and power advantages of proven silicon-on-insulator (SOI) technology, IBM officials said.
Bethesda is publishing Rage, the next game from id. It’s also built on an all-new engine, id Tech 5, that Carmack created specifically for the game. Rage ships for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on September 13–the first simultaneous console and PC launch in id’s history. You can’t just have a game take 10 years to develop. That so many people are involved? GS: Was that a big challenge? Doing multiplatform development?
We’re going to have a ton of fun with the game. GS: A quick follow up on Rage 2. If you’re a 30 hertz game, you try to push up to 60. We seriously talked about possibly using the iOS Rage technology that I built for that for a Wii game. It would fit perfectly from a technology standpoint, and I think would have been really pretty cool as a Wii game, but we decided that it wasn’t the right time to jump into the Wii market.
If you’re going to have a serious hardcore game on there, the Wii is usually the hardcore gamer’s second or third console. Even if we could have shipped Rage in full glory on the Wii, it probably wouldn’t have made a whole lot of sense because people that want Rage probably also have a PC, 360, or PS3 that could do the game better justice. The key to their success, if there’s going to be a success there, is allowing people to more or less directly move over the console development engine to technologies on there. Because you wii u know, you don’t have people making $50 million budget iOS games.
