Massachusetts Tornado recovery efforts entered a critical phase Monday as state and federal disaster teams move from one ravaged area to another, assessing the damage that at some point will translate into checks for the people struggling out in central Massachusetts. There are nine teams of federal and state investigators deployed around tornado damage the Springfield area. Officials surveyed Cady’s home and other damaged structures in town. It’s hoped that the assessments will clear the way for potential federal help.
