Jai Mcdowall Singing

Already many fans are comparing Jai’s show-stopping audition worthy winner to fellow Scot Susan Boyle’s two years ago. Jai – whose real name is James – was inspired to perform by his dad Jim, who sang and played guitar in punk bands when he was young. Jai tried out for BGT last year and didn’t get past the bootcamp stages. Jim picked him up from the airport on Tuesday after Jai spent Monday doing the rounds of TV shows such as Daybreak and Lorraine.

The BGT judges – Amanda, David Hasselhoff and Michael McIntyre – have claimed Glasgow didn’t have much talent this time round. But Jai, who auditioned in Liverpool after missing the Scots try-outs due to work commitments, doesn’t agree that there is no talent in Scotland.
